Watershed delineation is one of the most frequent tasks in our GIS workflows — and one of the most consequential. An error here propagates through every downstream calculation: catchment area, runoff volume, flood peak.

A correctly delineated watershed takes 2–4 hours in QGIS. Correcting a wrong one mid-project can cost weeks. Front-load the validation effort.
